Immigration law in Salinas

One green card case, one flat fee

For a husband, wife, parent or child who’s already here, that fee covers the petition and the green card application together, the work and travel permits, a binder of your evidence, a practice interview, and Amalia beside you at the USCIS interview.

  • USCIS fees not included
  • Medical exam extra
  • Waivers priced separately

Three flat fees

What each fee includes, and what stays outside it

Each fee is the office’s whole charge for the work it names, however many calls it takes. Government fees go straight to USCIS; you get the current amounts in writing at the consultation.

The practice

Three kinds of cases, and only these three

Amalia keeps the practice narrow so the fees can stay fixed. If your case is something else, she’ll tell you on the first call and give you the name of a lawyer who handles it.

  • Family green cards

Spouses, parents and children of U.S. citizens, from the first petition to the card in the mail.

  • Citizenship

Naturalization for permanent residents, including the ones with a long trip, an old ticket or a missed tax year to explain.

  • DACA renewals

Renewals filed 120 to 150 days before your card expires, with a letter from us when that window opens.

From families who have been through it

“We knew the whole price at the first meeting, and it never moved. When the officer asked about our wedding, Amalia had the photos tabbed in the binder.”

“I had a DUI from years ago and thought it ended my chances. She got the court record, explained it in a letter, and I took the oath in the spring.”

Questions about the fees

Are government fees part of the price?

No. USCIS fees are paid to USCIS with the application, and they change from time to time. At the consultation you get the current amounts in writing, printed next to the office’s fee.

What does the first consultation cost?

A set fee, quoted when you book, for an hour with Amalia at the office or by video. If you hire the office within 30 days, it comes off your fee.

What if my case turns out to need more?

If the review turns up something the flat fee doesn’t cover, such as a waiver or an old removal order, the work stops while Amalia explains it and quotes that part on its own. Nothing extra is done until you say yes.

Can I pay in parts?

Yes. Most families pay a first part when they sign and the rest in monthly parts before the case is filed. The schedule is written into your engagement letter.

Is a notario the same as a lawyer?

No. In the United States a notary public can only witness signatures. A notary can’t give immigration advice or file for you. Amalia is a licensed attorney, and you can look her up on the State Bar of California’s website.
